Money seems to make the world go round….it certainly causes us distress, and having it is something thought to be a good thing (is it?). But what is it really? More importantly, how do our body and psyche make sense of the invention of money? Does it understand it as real?
What about the idea that our bodies are transacting a different “currency”, that of Life force and energy?
In this 1.5 hour conversation, we will discuss how money economy relates to the body's economy, and how (or if) our body can make any sense of it. What are each of our experiences with money, with giving and receiving, and what it means in our lives?
Cost: this conversation is offered freely. If you are moved to support us, we would appreciate any amount donation to our fundraiser. We hope you check it out! There are some beautiful gifts and offerings you can also receive by donating!

This conversation will be hosted by SoULL teachers & students Jeanne Denney, LiZhen Wang and Kazu Haga. They all bring a great depth of insight and active personal practice to this topic!
SoULL Founder, Jeanne Denney is a transpersonal and somatic psychotherapist, educator, hospice worker, healer, and author of The Effects of Compassionate Presence on the Dying. She works in many venues to help people fearlessly embrace a life which includes aging and dying. Her insights on energy and the body through aging, illness, and dying are derived from a wide lens of human experience and deep understanding of our mortal journey.
SoULL Co-Director, LiZhen Wang, descends from a lineage of fisher people, jewelers, and community mediators from the island of Penghu. As a counselor and facilitator herself, LiZhen draws upon her ancestral traditions of Daoist-Buddhist practice, astrology, and the wisdom of the natural world. They work with individuals and organizations to support them to live into their soul’s calling. Experiencing her mother’s death was one of the greatest spiritual revelations of LiZhen’s life. It has opened them to the incredible richness of a life that includes, not avoids, death. For LiZhen, it is an honor to have been a student and now a teacher and Co-Director at SoULL.
SoULL Student, Kazu Haga is a trainer, educator, student and practitioner of nonviolence and restorative justice, a core member of Building Belonging, the Ahimsa Collective and the Fierce Vulnerability Network and author of Healing Resistance: A Radically Different Response to Harm. He works with incarcerated people, youth, and activists from around the country. He works to bridge healing work with the work of systemic social change. He is a resident of the Canticle Farm community on Lisjan Ohlone land, Oakland, CA.
