Healing Resistance is Kazu’s interpretation of Kingian Nonviolence, a social change philosophy developed out of the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Kazu was trained and mentored by Dr. Bernard Lafayette Jr., who co-authored the philosophy and was on Dr. King’s senior staff. The book takes you through the philosophy told through the lens of Kazu’s decades of experience in social change work and Buddhist practice.

Kazu Haga joined SoULL in 2024! He is a trainer and practitioner of nonviolence and restorative justice, a core member of the Fierce Vulnerability Network, a founding core member of the Ahimsa Collective, a Jam facilitator and author of Healing Resistance: A Radically Different Response to Harm and Fierce Vulnerability: Healing from Trauma, Emerging through Collapse. His work weaves together spiritual practice, trauma healing and nonviolent action to advance social change and move towards collective liberation.
